The Biofisika Fundation has hired Camilla Calabrese as a Senior Researcher and she will continue in our group this year. Congratulations!

Elena R. Alonso wins the Juan de La Cierva Postdoctoral Fellowship and will be in our Group until 2022. Congratulations!

Camilla Calabrese has recently been awarded a Juan de La Cierva Formación Fellowship. This is quite competitive call funded by the Spanish MINECO that highlight their excellent scientific and academic performance. Congratulations!

Emilio J. Cocinero joined a new Biofisika Institute (CSIC – UPV/EHU) and it has been awarded with 3.572.296 € by 3 years by Basque Government as part of Basic Research and Excellence Centers (BERC program).  

We have been awarded a 3 years project financed by MINECO that also includes a Ph. D. Scholarship to develop our research.

  The project “Estudio de sistemas biológicos y atmosféricos por Espectroscopía láser y de microondas de alta resolución” led by Francisco J. Basterretxea and Emilio J. Cocinero was funded by Spanish Ministry (MINECO). This project will address future experiments. Additionally,  MINECO  granted this project with a Ph. D student (FPI grant).

Emilio J. Cocinero, Physical Chemistry Researcher of the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU) was awarded with the Flygare Award Lecture to the best young researcher, for his achievements in the field of Molecular Spectroscopy. Iciar Uriarte got a grant of Formación del Profesorado Universitario (FPU) program. This national grant has a duration of 4 years and she will be able to enjoy several international stances during her Ph. D. thesis.

Iker León got a Juan de la Cierva fellowship (3-years contract) and he is moving to Barcelona to work in The Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO) with Prof. Jens Biegert.

The Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2013 was awarded jointly to Martin Karplus, Michael Levitt and Arieh Warshel “for the development of multiscale models for complex chemical systems”. Read more.

She was awarded by Suschem Society to the best Spanish academic record in Chemistry area. She got an average mark of 9.58 and 29 distinctions. Read more.
